Campers in grades 1 to 8 arrived on July 4th for the start of the TCPS Summer Camp. The campers were excited to see so many friends from the school year and returning from last year’s program. Tuesday marked our first special Treat Day and everyone enjoyed cooling off with a frozen treat. The theme for the first week of TCPS Summer Camp was Get Active and our campers enjoyed lots of sports in the gym, activities at Highgate Park, taking Fun Selfies and a fun trip to Markham Bowl. What a great first week of camp!
The Summer Camp fun continued into the second week with several Science themed activities. On Wednesday, campers put their engineering skills to the test creating buildings and bridges out of popsicle sticks, cardboard and marshmallows. The week continued with the students making and playing with their own slime creations! On Friday the campers make miniature volcanoes and tested them in the playfield to the delight of all the students. Friday was also our first day returning to Felix’s Swim Club for an afternoon of recreational swimming. What a nice cool way to end week 2!
The TCPS Summer Camp continues until Friday, August 26th. There is still time to register and join in the fun! Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to see all the camp photos.
