In April of 2015, the school announced that we were beginning the process of becoming an IB World School. We began with the application for the Diploma Programme (DP – Grades 11-12), and followed with applications for the Middle Years Programme (MYP – Grades 6-10) and the Primary Years Programme (PYP – Grades 1-5). We soon moved from being an IB Applicant school to an IB Candidate school. Recently, we had our Diploma Programme verification visit, where a team of IB appointed personnel visited the school and met with students, staff, parents, and administrative staff. The purpose of the verification visit was to ensure that our school is aligned with the IB philosophy and method of instruction and learning. After many months of hard work and dedication from the students and staff we are extremely excited and proud to announce that Town Centre Private High School is officially an authorized IB World School for the Diploma Programme. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone involved on a job well done.
In September, we officially opened our brand new Library Resource Centre. The LRC is quickly becoming a central learning hub for both elementary and high school students. The students are already benefiting from the new iPads, Chrome Books and iMacs. The Library Resource Centre also provides a much needed space for research, study and homework completion.
The start of the 2016-2017 school marked an important milestone for the school as we celebrated Town Centre Private Schools’ 30th anniversary. We have come a long way from our modest beginnings in September 1986. One of the keys to our success has been the hard work and dedication of our teaching staff and administration. I would like to acknowledge their hard work and enthusiasm over the years. We have grown over the last 3 decades to become a reputable and respected educational institution and we will continue to develop and grow in the years to come.
