Starting on November 18th, TCPS High School launched Anti-Bullying Week. Throughout the week, students participated in discussions, activities, and viewed a video on Bullying Awareness and Prevention. Teachers and students analyzed bullying behavior, its effects, and developed coping strategies through presentations and projects. Daily questions about bullying and kindness in the student lounge engaged students in meaningful conversations, promoting a supportive school culture.
The week began with a special video screening followed by a discussion on perspectives, key messages, and lessons learned, aiming to educate students on the impact of bullying and encourage empathy. On Tuesday, students explored various bullying scenarios, emphasizing empathy and critical thinking, ensuring all grades understood the importance of addressing bullying.
Midweek, Mr. Rajah, the TCPS IT Manager, discussed cyberbullying and responsible online behavior in a workshop, encouraging students to contribute to a safer online environment. Thursday was Pink Shirt Day, where students watched a video about its origins and wore pink shirts to show support, promoting kindness and inclusion.
The week culminated on Friday with a Kindness Challenge, where students performed acts of kindness, fostering a positive school culture. This challenge highlighted the value of kindness and how small actions can make a big difference. The week aimed to help students learn to prevent and manage bullying and understand its serious effects.
We hope this week has helped students learn how to prevent and manage bullying issues and bring awareness to the serious physiological and psychological effects of bullying.
