The grade 8 students participated in their Graduation Ceremony on the morning of June 21st. As each of the graduates were summoned on stage to receive their diploma, the audience erupted with applause from proud parents, staff and fellow students. In addition to the formal graduation protocol, graduates who earned special awards were also presented with their individual medals in the following areas: Highest Subject Mark, Honour Roll (80% average or higher), Principal’s List (90% average or higher), Canada-wide Mathematica and Gauss contests top ranking students and STEM Fair winners. The speech from this year’s Valedictorian, Haaniya N. J., was heartfelt and made graduation a day to truly remember.
Following the graduation ceremony students, dressed in formal attire, and students and staff travelled by bus to the Crystal Fountain Banquet Hall for a special afternoon luncheon and dance. It was a great way to celebrate graduating with their friends.
As our grade 8 students bid farewell to elementary school and look forward to their next step of their educational journey starting in September at TCPS high school. Congratulations to the class of 2023!
