Following our annual Terry Fox Run on Friday, September 20th, the Elementary classes kicked off Spirit Week from September 23rd to 27th with a bang! This special event is a yearly highlight, packed with activities designed to boost school spirit. Students ditched their uniforms and embraced a series of exciting, themed days.
Pajama Day Monday: The week started with everyone in their comfiest pajamas, robes, and slippers. It was the perfect cozy start to Spirit Week! Grade 6 to 8 Student Activity Council (SAC) candidates also delivered compelling speeches, hoping to win their classmates’ votes.
Teacher Day Tuesday: Students mimicked their favorite teachers’ styles, coming to school dressed as their beloved TCPS educators. The creativity was off the charts with some fantastic outfits!
W Day Wednesday: Inspired by the questions “WHO do I look up to?”, “WHERE would I like to work?”, and “WHAT do I want to be WHEN I grow up?”, students dressed to reflect their dream careers or role models. For grades 6, 7, and 8, it was also election day for the Student Activity Council.
TC Tiger Day Thursday: Celebrating our school mascot, TC, students and staff donned special T-shirts representing our four Houses: Yellow Gryphons, Blue Thunderbirds, Green Dragons, and Yellow Phoenixes. The school spirit was palpable!
Fabulously Funky Friday: The grand finale saw everyone sporting crazy, colorful, and fun hairdos and outfits. The week wrapped up with a special assembly featuring a fun slideshow of the week’s activities. Students who donated to Toonies for Terry the previous week, were entered into a draw. Two students won the opportunity to spin the wheel and earn a teacher prank. Thank you to our good sports, Ms. Exarhakos who was hit with a pie and Mr. Cabanilla who danced dressed in a taco costume. It was for a great cause.
Spirit Week 2024 was a blast, filled with laughter, creativity, and unforgettable memories!
