September 30, 2024, marked the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities. It is an important day to remember and learn from the tragic history of the Indigenous people and begin to move forward with the reconciliation process.
We would like to thank our High School students and teachers for commemorating the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. We gained some more awareness and information through educational teachings in classes. We continued our Town Centre tradition by commemorating this day by our planted school tree in the SAC yard which not only represents the history of our roots, but also growth, hope and change for the future.
