This year TCPS High School students introduced and launched a new club, HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America). This is a well-known organization that focuses on health-related topics and provides opportunities to compete in Canada’s largest health science competition. Topics include behavioural health, medical terminology, veterinary science, forensic science and more. Students will have the chance to explore the field of health science, develop relevant skills, collaborate with peers, and get involved in the school.
Congratulations go out to everyone in HOSA for participating in the Fall Leadership Conference! The written competition took place online between December 6th and 12th. Students were tested on topics ranging from Medical Terminology, Veterinary Science, Forensic Science and many more. Members reported having both an educational and positive experience.
HOSA members care currently preparing for the Spring Leadership Conference where their knowledge will be tested once more through either a healthy debate, another written exam, or presentation. This conference will consist of two rounds the first of which will take place from May 1st to May 6th. Qualifiers will then advance to Round 2 from May 8th to May 9th. Good luck to our participating HOSA members!
