I Read Canadian is a new nationwide initiative that celebrates the richness,diversity, and breadth of Canadian literature. The goal of the program is for families, schools, libraries, bookstores, and organizations to host activities and events by reading Canadian books for just fifteen minutes. 

The TCPS grade 1 students gathered for an assembly on February 19th reading their own books as well as reading together an Epic on-line book.  Part of this initiative is to instill is students the benefits of reading regularly in addition to other activities.
