Junior Achievement (JA) is the largest youth business education organization in Canada. JA is committed to preparing youth to succeed in the global economy. Run by dedicated volunteers from various notable Canadian companies, JA offers different workshops that teach students about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, business and work readiness. Volunteers share their experiences working in the corporate world and integrate assorted learning strategies such as class discussions, hands on activities and e-learning to facilitate workshops.
On April 24th, representatives from BMO, Bank of Montreal conducted workshops for the grade 8 classes. Students participated in the “Economics for Success” workshop where they learned about the connection between education and achieving their goals, networking and creating a strong personal brand and creating a budget to prepare for post-secondary life.
This was a great engaging and positive experience for our students. Thank you to the Junior Achievement volunteers for making this presentation possible.
