HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), is a well-known organization that focuses on health-related topics and provides opportunities to High School students to compete in Canada’s largest health science competition. Topics include behavioural health, medical terminology, veterinary science, forensic science and more. Through this organization, students have the opportunity to explore the field of health science, develop relevant skills, collaborate with peers and get involved within their school.
HOSA will be hosting its annual Spring Leadership Conference (SLC) virtually from April 30th to May 8th. The Conference is a national competition where students will compete in an event of their choice. As part of the SLC requirements, students must present to a community ahead of the Conference.
To prepare for the SLC, Town Centre students Natasha, Faizan and Jolene shared with their peers a presentation that raises awareness for the public health issue “Good Oral Health” in the High School lounge on Monday, April 25th. Congratulations to these HOSA Club members for a great presentation and good luck at the upcoming Spring Leadership Conference.
