After School Courses The After School Courses which are scheduled between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. are very popular with our students and parents. Parents appreciate the convenience of on-site programs, saving them from driving place to place during week nights and on weekends. Our families trust the quality of our programs and are appreciative of the fact that their children are learning from some of the best instructors from their fields in Markham and the Greater Toronto Area! At the end of the year, parents are invited to recitals and observation classes for some of the courses. Students have a complete range of competitively priced programs available including: Authentic Taekwondo Creative Genius Art Academy Piano and Theory Mad Science Singing Sensations Snapology Sports with Jay Field Trips and Visitor Presentations Field trips and educational visitor presentations are an integral part of our Montessori Pre-School program. These activities are scheduled on a monthly basis during the school year, and twice monthly during Summer Camp in July and August. Trips, visitors and presentations are planned during the year to coincide with topics and themes being taught in the classroom. Each trip, visitor and presentation is unique and provides different insights and educational experiences for our Pre-School students. Christmas Concerts As part of our regular Music program, the students from the Montessori classes participate in Christmas concerts each December. Students learn a variety of seasonal songs, teachers create beautiful costumes and parents enjoy a wonderful evening as they watch their children perform on stage. All of the children work very hard to present entertaining performances during concert week. Their enthusiasm is paramount in making this event a memorable start to the Christmas season! Community Outreach Students at TCPS are well aware that not everybody lives a privileged lifestyle. Some are less fortunate due to illnesses, accidents or economic conditions. Students are taught that they don’t own the world but share it collectively with others. On this premise, TCPS students enthusiastically participate in many charitable fund raising events throughout the academic year. The immediate beneficiaries are people in need at the Terry Fox Foundation, Markham Veterans Association and York Region Fire Department local charities. See our Pre-School News blogs and our Pre-School social media feeds for updates throughout the year.
