Town Centre Private Schools (collectively, “Town Centre”) is committed to protecting the personal information it collects (“Personal Information”) and the privacy of the individuals to whom it relates. Information including Personal Information that you submit through this website or any other website managed by Town Centre (collectively the “Website”) will be available to offices, departments and individuals within Town Centre and may be disclosed to its subsidiaries and affiliates, for the purposes described in this Privacy Statement (“Statement”).

This Statement may be revised from time to time in response to changes in Town Centre’s practices or applicable law. The date on which the Statement was last revised is posted at the top of this page. Please review the Statement carefully if it has been revised since the last time you visited the Website. Your use of the Website after a change has been made to this Statement constitutes your consent for Town Centre to collect, use and disclose your Personal Information in accordance with the revised terms.

Town Centre collects and uses Personal Information for communication to and with its constituents. Town Centre continuously strives to strengthen the school community by connecting students, parents, alumnae, faculty, staff and friends with Town Centre and one another. Personal Information is also gathered to provide services for which parents have registered for, to protect the safety and well-being of students and to assist Town Centre in creating new services that will better serve our families, and for administrative purposes, such as student registration, and school operations and activities, including fund-raising.

In order to process Personal Information, Town Centre might ask for consent in writing, application form or in person or over the telephone. Town Centre may determine that, by the parents or guardians enrolling their child, or staff joining Town Centre, consent has been implied for Town Centre to deal with Personal Information of all members of the Town Centre community with respect and confidentiality.

The Website, like virtually all websites, collects information that your browser sends whenever you visit the Website, in the form of access logs and “cookies”. This information could include data about your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages visited, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics. This information is stored in logs on a web server, and in cookies (files with small amounts of the data noted above) on your own computer. This information is in no way attached to personally identifying information such as a visitor’s name, email address or phone number. You can disable or limit the use of cookies through your browser, but this may affect your use or experience of the Website. In addition, to help us improve the experience of using the Website, we use third party services to better analyze this data. This information will only be used to better inform our internal needs and support us in better serving our community.

Town Centre may be legally required to disclose Personal Information, for example in response to a warrant, court order or under the laws governing educational institutions and may disclose Personal information, for example to law enforcement officers to assist with an investigation, or to protect the safety of our community members and Town Centre.

Except in a limited number of circumstances defined by law, upon written request you may view your Personal Information in Town Centre’s records. We may ask you for identification to ensure that we do not inadvertently disclose Personal Information to an unauthorized person. If you would like to request access to, or update or modify, your Personal Information or authorize Town Centre to disclose it to someone else, please advise our Privacy Officer, Adrianna Rogers by email or post to the address provided below.

Town Centre may make other functionality available on the Website or through mobile applications with password-protected services, and we will advise you of any additional uses of your personal information through such functionality.

Town Centre uses a variety of safeguards to protect Personal Information. We restrict access to Personal Information to authorized members of the Town Centre community who have received been made aware of our privacy standards and who have signed a confidentiality agreement. All digital sources of Personal Information are stored in password-protected platforms. Under no circumstances do we rent, sell or give Personal Information to any other organization for its own use.

Town Centre participates in various social media platforms. These other platforms are not subject to our Privacy Policy and we are not responsible for the privacy policies of these third-party sites, or for the use of any information that these sites may collect.

Town Centre uses external service providers to assist it with certain of its operations, for example the support and maintenance of its electronic records and systems. Some of Town Centre’s service providers, including its IT service providers, operate in countries outside of Canada. Where required for their services, Town Centre will transfer or otherwise permit its service providers to access Personal Information (including financial and personal health information). Town Centre prohibits its service providers from using Personal Information except to the extent required to provide their services and requires them to adhere to Town Centre’s privacy standards for the protection of Personal Information. Where Town Centre’s service providers operate in countries other than Canada and use or store Personal Information, that information will be subject to and may be disclosed under the laws of those other countries, including to their governments and government agencies.
