Over March Break, 12 eager students and 2 dedicated teachers embarked on an enriching 8-day European adventure through Italy, France, Monaco, and Spain. This EF tour was a whirlwind of exploration, culture, and discovery.

Day 1: Fly Overnight to Italy The excitement begins as TCPS High School students board their overnight flight to Italy. Anticipation builds as they prepare for a journey filled with cultural discoveries and breathtaking landscapes.

Day 2: Milan • Cinque Terre Upon arrival in Milan, students meet their Tour Director who will guide them through this incredible adventure. They travel to the picturesque region of Cinque Terre, known for its colorful villages and stunning coastal views.

Day 3: Exploring Cinque Terre Students spend the day exploring the charming villages of Cinque Terre. From hiking trails to seaside cafes, they immerse themselves in the beauty and tranquility of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 4: Cinque Terre • French Riviera The journey continues as students travel to the glamorous French Riviera via Monaco. In Monaco, they tour iconic landmarks such as the Prince’s Palace, Monaco Cathedral, and the Monte Carlo Casino. A visit to a French perfume factory adds a fragrant touch to the day.

Day 5: Discovering Nice and Saint-Paul de Vence A walking tour of Nice reveals the city’s vibrant culture and historic sites, including Vieille Ville and the Promenade des Anglais. The bonus excursion to Saint-Paul de Vence offers a glimpse into the medieval charm of one of the French Riviera’s most beautiful villages. Students admire breathtaking views and explore the town’s maze of charming streets.

Day 6: French Riviera • Barcelona Students bid farewell to the French Riviera and travel to the lively city of Barcelona, ready to experience its rich history and modern attractions.

Day 7: Exploring Barcelona A guided tour of Barcelona showcases the city’s architectural marvels, including La Sagrada Família, the Gothic Quarter, and Montjuïc. Students visit Park Güell and take a walking tour to soak in the vibrant atmosphere. Free time allows them to explore the city on their own and discover hidden gems.

Day 8: Montserrat Excursion The adventure concludes with a half-day excursion to Montserrat. The dramatic mountain setting and the 9th-century monastery provide a serene backdrop for reflection. Students may even hear the renowned boys choir during their visit, adding a magical touch to the end of their journey.

This whirlwind European adventure was more than just a trip—it was a transformative experience. The students returned home with a deeper appreciation for the richness of European heritage, a collection of unforgettable memories, and a bond with their fellow travelers that will last a lifetime. From the ancient wonders of Italy to the romantic charm of France, the dazzling luxury of Monaco, and the vibrant spirit of Spain, their journey was a celebration of discovery, learning, and the beauty of the world.
